Idaho is crossed by the north/south Interstate 15, and the west/east Interstates 84, 86, and 90; Interstate 184 is a spur of Interstate 84 in the Boise area. Many U. S. highways traverse the state, as well as Idaho state highways.
Major airports in Idaho include Boise City Airport (BOI) and Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport (LWS).
Commuter options in Boise City are maintained by Commuteride in the Ada County Highway District. Boise/Garden City and Nampa/Caldwell are served by ValleyRide of Valley Regional Transit, the regional public transportation authority for Ada and Canyon counties in southwest Idaho. Pocatello Regional Transit operates public transportation in the greater Pocatello area.
Amtrak serves Idaho at Sandpoint with the Empire Builder route, which extends from Seattle, Washington to Chicago, Illinois.
Greyhound Lines offers intercity bus options through Idaho and points beyond. Other bus options include the Northwestern Trailways Lines, Inc., which operates the Boise-Winnemucca Stages, Inc. and the Northwestern Stage Lines, Inc. Other motor coach lines include Rimrock Stages, the Salt Lake Express, and Sun Valley Express.
