LifeScience Moment: The double helical structure of DNA was revealed.

On Feb. 28, 1953, James Watson and Francis Crick announced the discovery of the double helical structure of DNA. On April 25, 1953,
Watson's and Crick published their 900-word manuscript in Nature describing the double helical structure of
DNA, one of the key discoveries of the century.
An X-ray diffraction photo of DNA taken by Raymond Gosling in May 1952, working as a PhD student
under the supervision of Rosalind Franklin at King's College London served as a key line of
evidence in figuring out the structure of DNA.
