Summary
The Oracle ERP Application DBA is responsible for the application specific tasks pertaining to development and administration of the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2 environment, and other Oracle databases as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the EBS Application System Administrator to provide full accountability for the system.
- Implement and maintain the database design.
- Create database objects (tables, indexes, etc.).
- Write database procedures, functions and triggers.
- Assist developers with database activities.
- Monitor application related jobs and data replication activities.
- Installation, configuration and deployment of Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2.
- Work with developers and users to migrate objects and code between different environments.
- Responsible for cloning non-production EBS instances.
- Troubleshoot and help resolve Oracle and middleware issues.
- Apply patches to the EBS application and database.
- Design and build databases, schemas, stored procedures, and other database objects.
- Set up routine database backup procedures and disaster recovery procedures.
- Perform database recoveries.
- Assist developers and end-users with database usage, query development, and tuning.
- Develop operating system scripts to automate backups, data transfers, monitoring, etc.
- Support database connectivity from client applications.
- Design and implement database security schemas.
- Provides direction and coaching to other IT staff. Assists associate and intermediate DBA’s with complex database tasks.
- Position will involve the database portion of various projects ranging from the installation and support of new packaged applications to the development of custom databases for in house developed applications. Project teams will be composed of multi-disciplinary teams including business analysts, systems analysts, programmers, and client users.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years related experience supporting Oracle EBS R12.2, weblogic, OID.
- Experience with related applications is preferred; OAM, SOA, OBIEE, OEM, Noetix, GRC module.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Information Systems or relevant experience/certifications.
- Oracle certifications in related technologies are preferred.
- Must have extensive knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, related utilities and tools.
- A good knowledge of Oracle data integrity and master data management processes.
- UNIX/LINUX scripting knowledge is important.
- Thorough knowledge of SQL including PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of logical, physical, and data-warehouse modeling is desired.
- A good understanding of the underlying operating system.
- A good knowledge of the physical database design.
- Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.
- Knowledge of all Oracle backup and recovery scenarios.
- A good knowledge of Oracle security management.
- A good knowledge of how Oracle acquires and manages resources.
- Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle.
- A DBA should have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators.
- A DBA should have the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- A DBA should possess a sound understanding of the business.
