Summary

The Patient Access Strategy & Operations Lead will be responsible for the overall patient access strategy and operations for Seattle Genetics. This includes developing and leading patient support services that enhance the patient and provider experience from initial prescription through continued therapy. Additionally, he or she will ensure the positive impact and high quality of the SeaGen Secure program and evolve the program with the company’s expanding product portfolio in alignment with a changing competitive, regulatory, and compliance landscape. The Patient Access Strategy Lead will be accountable for overall patient access strategy and the performance of patient support services for Seattle Genetics.

In addition to being a key member of the Global Value Access & Pricing (GVAP) team, he or she will develop and maintain a high-level of collaboration and integration with all cross-functional stakeholders, including Field Teams, Brand Marketing, Training, Market Access, Distribution, and Market Insights. The position requires a highly motivated individual that is able to work cross-functionally in order to accomplish objectives.

Responsibilities:

By executing the following duties, the Patient Access Strategy Lead will help ensure best in class support to health care providers and patients in accessing medically necessary treatments to minimize reimbursement obstacles that may impede treatment access:

  • Drive the development, coordination and implementation of all initiatives related to reimbursement and patient support programs that align to brand-related strategic objectives.
  • Effectively translate access strategies into actionable tactics.
  • Be a driving member of the core team responsible for setting PSP strategy, providing insights, and accountable for delivering agreed upon KPIs.
  • Be the single-point-of-contact for the brand team, providing both strategic and operational leadership for the design and delivery of PSP. Ensure that the PSP role in the brand strategy is valued and recognized. Drive clearly evident brand value through enhancement and innovation of the patient and provider experience.
  • Lead all elements and the coordination of services deployed across the end-to-end PSP process and across all stakeholders. Ensure positive impact, high quality and consistently strong performance of PSP operations. Track, manage and optimize the overall patient access journey with cross-functional partners.
  • Develop analytics to focus spend and programs on most impactful activities. Actively assess and monitor competitive landscape programs. Use insights from external market monitoring and internal analytics to drive lifecycle-dependent brand initiatives / operations.
  • Accountable for developing and maintaining strong and productive relationships with all cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Accountable for vendor management, SOP development and maintenance, and other operational requirements to ensure effective and compliant program execution.
  • Collaborate on development and delivery of training and education programs for Field teams.

Qualifications:

  • 7 – 10 years of "progressive" industry/relevant professional experience; must include extensive experience working for a pharmaceutical manufacturer. Prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of medical and pharmacy benefit design.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership, influencing without formal authority and collaboration skills including successful execution of complex and innovative projects.
  • Confidence, presence and communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate with senior leaders across multiple functions in support of key initiatives.
  • Proven ability to proactively and independently prioritize requests and business needs.
  • Must possess excellent organizational savvy and communication skills. This includes a demonstrated understanding of how to effectively escalate issues/concerns, as well as how to most effectively communicate up, down and across the organization orally and in writing.
  • Strong consulting, meeting management and group process facilitation skills are required to achieve pre-defined objectives.
  • Experience in oral and IV specialty products and specialty product launches required; oncology experience preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
